A Word From MAIYTRA's Heroes: Brought to you by BMM (Brihan Maharashtra Mandal) of North America, MAIYTRA (Maharashtrian Association of Indian Youth Together Representing America) started in 1994 in an effort to preserve Maharashtrian culture among Marathi youth. The MAIYTRA convention is a biennial event that provides an environment that reinforces our cultural beliefs and values. It creates a forum for young adults from around the country and internationally to meet others who have similar values, backgrounds, and most importantly, who share an interest in maintaining their Marathi roots during these changing times. San Francisco sets the scene for Maiytra 2008 showcasing the best of Marathi culture through performances, interactive panels, and outdoor activities. For this year's convention we've chosen to spotlight prominent Marathi figures who have influenced our lives. Their leadership, strength and charisma make them our HEROES. Bhetu ya, |
